Bronfman Vision Forum

The Bronfman Vision Forum is a separate arm of the Foundation which gives expression to the Foundation’s core belief that Jewish Renaissance is grounded in Jewish learning. The Bronfman Vision Forum offers opportunities and venues for cultural influentials, Jewish thought leaders and those who believe in the power of ideas and learning to come together, collaborate, and infuse Jewish life with intellectual dynamism.

The “Why Be Jewish?” gathering brings together a wide cross section of Jewish thought leaders to explore the question, “Why Be Jewish?” from an array of perspectives. The 2007 gathering explored why an individual chooses a Jewish identity in an age of limitless identity choices. The 2008 gathering addressed the significance of the emergence of tribalism and secularism as dominant trends in how they redefine what it means to be Jewish in the 21st century.

This year’s gathering examined the concept of “Renaissance in a Time of Ration” through a text based exploration of how Jewish tradition can help provide insight and direction into navigating difficult and complex times, as well as a means to derive meaning and value from Jewish values.

Convened by Edgar M. Bronfman, the 375 Series is a forum for philanthropists and leaders of the Jewish community to engage on key issues in contemporary Jewish life.

Our Jewish learning sessions provide opportunities for educators, thinkers and communal leaders to share, discuss and experiment with Jewish texts and tradition.
